sustainability

Our commitments to sustainability and quality lie at the heart of our business development plans.

As the UK designer and manufacturer of all infrastructure and advertising equipment which includes shelters, digital 6 sheets and classic paper 6 sheets, we have full control over every process. This starts with design and materials selection, through to optimisation and planning. Our commitments extend to production equipment and lowering power whilst increasing productivity.

We’re committed to achieving Net Zero by 2030.

Solar Panels

Our largest commitment is development of a large scale solar renewable installation at our head office facility that will generate all our power needs to sustain our production and supply surplus power back to the grid. The feasibility scheme is complete, and the project scheduled to introduce full renewable energy to our site during 2025.

Whilst corporate responses to sustainability often include a vague commitment to sourcing power from green sustainable networks, one has to appreciate power from this is finite and does nothing to help the overall UK objectives of achieving Net Zero. These individual organisations, of which there are many, may for the time being tick some corporate governance box. Our commitment to adding renewables infrastructure to achieve our sustainability goals removes this debate.

Commitments to various energy saving initiatives have less impact but nevertheless important within a mix of measures in reducing our environmental load include:

  • Deployment of electric vehicle fleet.
  • Materials optimisation and component reduction.
  • Improved logistics and planning to reduce travelled mileage.
  • Increased use of solar back lit advertising boxes.
  • Improvements in technology to reduce power for digital displays.
  • Changes to cleaning to introduce eco detergents, reduced water requirements from low pressure cleaning systems and rainwater harvesting used prior to deionised water production.
  • The introduction of the green roof onto a number of shelters increases biodiversity, greening up some of our urban spaces and assisting with SuDS by reducing surface water runoff.

Planet Mark logo

We’re furthering our sustainability commitment by becoming Planet Mark certified through measuring and reducing our carbon footprint.

Planet Mark is an internationally recognised sustainability certification for every type of organisation, for real estate and for products. A Planet Mark certification recognises continuous improvement, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals who make a world of difference.

In this crucial Decade of Action, we want to ensure that we are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring our own impact on the environment.

Over the next year we will be working towards reducing our carbon emissions, and we want to share this journey with our community to encourage others to join us.

Through Planet Mark we are protecting an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Our pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

Through our commitment to Planet Mark we are also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.

Each and every one of you plays an important role in our sustainability commitments, and Planet Mark will help to embed sustainability in our business culture so that we can make continual progress.

We look forward to sharing our sustainability achievements with the wider community. We encourage you to get in touch if you have any questions, suggestions or would like to get involved.
